Ring RAC800 Cordless Rechargeable Inflator Review

Today we’re going to review the Ring RAC800 tyre inflator / air compressor. This is something new for us and we’ve never reviewed a cordless inflator, personally, I never thought things like that could exist – inflators must use a lot of power to inflate, right? so the inflator must be huge to have a battery to support all that power. Wrong, RAC800 is like a drill, it’s not too heavy and the size is very compact. So from now on, no more taking the life out of your car’s battery, you simply lugin this inflator into the mains socket to charge it up. Just because you don’t mains socket or cigarrete lighter socket to make it work, the possibilities and possible uses of it increases 10 times! You could take the inflator with you when you go camping, and inflate mattresses, inflatable toys, etc. There’s also a bad side of it – It’s not going to be as powerful as the mains powered air compressors. But if you don’t need to inflate 4×4 tyres everyday, then this is just the perfect mobile tool. It can inflate a car tyre in under 4 minutes (fully deflated), or it can inflate a single mattress in less than 30 seconds. It also comes with a pressure gauge, although, pressure gauges on most of these inflators are a little bit off. More info..

Good bits: Works well, much more quicker than 12v ones, cordless (doh!), good quality touches adds a sturdy feel to it.

Bad bits: Presure gauge is a bit off (like almost all of them), lacks cut-off feature. More reviews..

Ring RAC800 Cordless Rechargeable Inflator Price

You would usually expect a massive price tag on cordless tools, especially car tyre inflators. Surprisingly, the price of RAC800 is in the middle of V12 inflators and mains powered compressors. We’ve had a look at around 10 websites, and found the best deal on this one.

Battery Charge

Jan 24, 2012 by Jason

The question I was looking an answer for before I bought this was: How long does it take to charge the battery and how long does the battery last. I couldn't really find an answer to that, but I bought it anyway. The battery is good and I don't have any trouble with it. I can't really give a clear answer, because my tyre size is a bit different from normal ones. All I can say that I left it to charge up for 3 hours and then had to inflate all 4 winter tyres and it worked fine, although at the end it feels like it's losing power, but you charge it up again and it's good as new.
